GENRE: Paranormal Romance

SYNOPSIS:

Emma has made some bad decisions in her life, but she was positive that being with Teren Adams wasn’t one of them. He was everything she’d ever wanted in a man—kind, caring, loyal, loving and on occasion, a hopeless romantic. True, he was also a vampire, or partially so, and had recently joined the ranks of the undead, but to Emma, that was inconsequential. She was his, he was hers, and she could not wait to be his bride, to mother his children, and to stay by his side for as long as her mortal life would allow her to. At least…that was the plan.

REVIEW:

Purchased from Amazon

Bloodlines is book two in the Conversion series by S.C. Stephens and picks up right where it left off at the end of Conversion. Once again another fascinating read and keeps you guessing. These really are a unique family of vampires.

Typical of S.C. Stephens work, this book is well written, keeps the reader interested even though it doesn’t move as fast as the first book. However the pace does keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for something to happen. The emotions expressed feel very real regardless if it’s love, lust or fear.

The characters are very likeable and apart from Teren and Emma we get to know Teren’s family members a lot more than in the first book. Halina in particular, Teren’s great-grandmother and full vampire. She’s a very intimidating woman but the love she has for Teren and the rest of the family cannot be denied. Halina will do what needs to be done to protect her family including Emma. Emma’s future is unknown at the end of this book due to an incident while she was pregnant, however she remains strong for the sake of her children and marriage. Her relationship with Halina progresses where she becomes more confident when dealing with her stands up to her when she feels necessary. Teren, gains an ally in Hot Ben when he needs it most and this in turn gives him strength and the confidence in trying to help his wife and unborn children.

The romance and sex scenes in this book are tastefully written and the level of passion is conveyed beautifully.

If you enjoyed the first book, Conversion then you will feel the same way about this one. The story of these vampires is intriguing and  quite different to those that I have read which makes them all the more interesting. So, if you’re looking for a paranormal romance series that’s a little different then I recommend this one to you.

This is book 2 in the Conversion series with, ‘Til Death and The Next Generation yet to follow.

I rate this book 4 stars.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

S.C. Stephens is an independent author who enjoys spending every free moment she has creating stories that are packed with emotion and heavy on romance.

Her first attempt at a full-length novel was Thoughtless. She wrote the angst-filled love triangle in early 2009 and published it that summer on FictionPress. Amazed and surprised by the response, more stories were quick to follow.

Conversion, the first novel in a three story vampire series, was released in the fall. Collision Course, a tragic, yet hopeful tale of love and loss was released in early 2010. The second Conversion novel came out next, along with It’s All Relative, a different take on a one night stand story.

In addition to writing, Stephens enjoys reading other people’s fabulous novels, loading up her iPod with writer’s block reducing music, heading out to the movie theaters, and spending quality time with her children.
